Happy 2 months!!!!

I know this is late but you are 2 months our precious little boy!!! You make everyday a new adventure and we are so blessed to have you here with us.

We went to the doctor and you are
23 1/4 inches and you weigh 12 lbs and 6 oz.... You gained over 3lbs this month baby boy!!!! To say you are a growing boy would be an understatement.

You eat at least 6 oz every feeding and have about 5 bottles a day. You are the strongest little boy I know and you wear mommy, daddy , and granny out on a daily basis because all you want to do is stand. We are working on sitting up and you try to crawl so bad. It's so cute to watch you try to get to the toy or Max. Your smiles are contagious and I love coming to get you and when you see me your face lights up in a huge smile...makes my whole day. You started going to Granny's Monday through Friday since Mommy had to go back to work. You love spending the day with granny and always give her the biggest smile when you see her. You also got to spend the whole day with Nona while Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Lori went to the casino for Mommy's birthday!!! No spending the night yet!! Mommy is not quite ready for that. Avery you are our whole world and we love you more than words could ever express!!!

Love always and forever,
Mommy and Daddy

Good Bye Baby Belly

So I figured I should document how much I have changed since I had Avery. (to help me keep on track and remember that yes the tummy is going away...) Everyone tells you that you will lose the weight but never to expect it to come off to quickly. In the past month I have lost around 40 lbs. (or that was the number the last time I was on a scale.)

I never planed on posting a pregnancy picture but I think it will help motivate me...

(This is me at 41 weeks the morning I went in to have Avery)

Please excuse the hair and no makeup...it was 5:30 in the morning and I just really didn't care. I was ready to get everything started and have my little man here!!

So here is the most recent picture...(1 month postpartum)

I know that no one really cares about the change, but this is for me so that I can keep up with what I have accomplished.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!!

1 Month

My dear sweet Avery,

Today you are 1 month old. I can't believe time has flown by so fast. You are our whole world and we love having you finally here with us!! We went to the doctor this week and you are now 9 lbs and 4 oz and are 22 in tall.

You are a very strong little boy. You hold your head up and try to stand. You try so hard to move those little legs. I swear one day you are going to take off on me and I'm not going to be able to catch you. A new thing that started this week is you sleeping on your side. You want so bad to roll over and get mad when our body wont do what you want. You are definitely our little wiggle worm.

You are very happy baby and only cry when you need something. You love tummy time and when Daddy comes home. You wake up if you are asleep and only want him. He loves to play with you and make you dance while he sings. This next month will have a lot of new things for you. I bet you will be rolling over and smiling before too long.

Avery we love you so much and are so thankful you are ours forever!!!!!

Love Always and Forever,

Mommy and Daddy

The first few weeks...

We came home to an amazing homecoming. My mom and Calvin's Aunts had come to the apartment and re-cleaned everything. Our house was spotless!!! Also Calvin's Aunt Donna and Ginger decorated the house with welcome home stuff for Avery.

That first night was by far the hardest we have had. Little man had his nights and days completely backwards. This is starting to get better!!!

We had our first doctor's apt at 6 days old. We weighed in at 7 lbs and 15 oz (we had lost a little bit of weight) and know measured 21 1/2 cm. Dr. Hardoin was very impressed with our little one's strength and how well he took all the poking and prodding.

Over the next couple of weeks we got to know each other. We had a friend of my mom's, daughter come and take some pictures for her portfolio. She had never photographed a newborn and of course for free pictures I was willing to share mine. Here are a couple of the amazing pictures!!!

Being a mom is amazing!!! I love spending every minute with my little man. I just can't believe he is almost a month old...time sure does fly!!!

Our Birth Story

This post is going to belong...

So if you had talked to me before I gave birth I would of told you how I planned on things going. I wanted a natural birth, no meds and no c-section. I didn't even want to be induced I wanted our little man to come on his own when he was ready. Well life doesn't always go as planned.

On June 14 I went to the doctor and was told I was at a 1. I was so excited that something had started...we had a rough week my gee (grandpa) had died the day before and unfortunately I was in the room when he coded and had to run through the hospital to get to my mom at 36 weeks pregnant. I even started having contractions on that day. Well my next 3 appointments we were still the same no change you are still a 1. Granted I was still having contractions pretty much all day they would just never get into a pattern. We were stuck and not progressing very fast.

At my week 40 appointment I had to see a different doctor because mine was out of town. This doctor started talking about how big our little man was and that I should have a c-section that day. If you know me I was dead set on this not happening so I left the office ready to see my regular doctor on Monday. I started doing everything imaginable to induce my labor natural and nothing was happening.

Monday's appointment Dr. Black informed me that I was still a 1 and only 50% effaced. So we decided that at exactly 41 weeks, Wednesday July 13 I would be induced. Luckily for us we new this would happen no matter how many people they had at the hospital because I was lucky enough to have one of my best friends come with us to be our nurse.

On July 13 we got to the hospital at 7 a.m., Ashley got us all set up and ready for the doctor to come in to break my water. When he came in our little boy was so high that the doctor had a hard time breaking my water. He told me good luck and actually called later that day to check in on me and the progress we were making. (apparently this is something he does not do very often) We got the Pitocin going and by noon I was at the highest amount you can get and was having the strongest contractions you can have. I was checked and was at a 4. I was so tired that I decided to go ahead and get my epidural because the was going to be a long day it seemed.

Lori, Ashley, Emily and me waiting on things to start going.

My amazing nurse that I love so much Ashley!!

The hubby and me waiting to meet our little man.

At 2 when I was checked again I was still at a 4. The same thing at 4, nothing was changing even though I was having all the contractions. At this point Dr. Black called to check on me and started talking about a c-section if I did not start progressing before she came at 6. I'm not going to lie for the next to hours my blood pressure was sky high and I could not stop crying. This was not the plan not to mention I was terrified.(For the record I have never had surgery or stitches)

Dr. Black came in at 6 and checked me and I was still at a 4. She then told us we needed to have a c-section. I became very upset and really started crying. I figured that I would have a couple of hours to prepare myself...NOPE that was not going to happen she was going to take me back in 10 minutes. Ashley and another nurse started getting everything ready. Calvin had to get into the gown they gave him and be ready as soon as they were done. I felt like I was getting hysterical I was crying my mom was crying and looked very worried.

They took me back to the room and I have to say its just like on T.V. everything is so white. They got me all strapped in and had everything ready. My anesthesiologist was amazing she helped me calm down and made sure I was comfortable. The actually c-section did not seem like it took very long.

At 6:55p.m. our little Angel was born

Avery Ray Parker

She helped us bring our miracle into the world thank you Aunt Ashley!

He was 8lbs 3oz and 21 in

As soon as they got Avery cleaned up Calvin, Ashley and Avery headed out to meet all the people waiting for his arrival. As soon as they left they started closing me up. (had a few complications but everything turned out fine) I don't know what happen with Calvin showing off Avery all I know is what has been told to me. Of course everyone was so excited to see him but the best thing was that as soon as my mom saw Ashley holding Avery she ran down the hall screaming asking if I was okay. Even at 26 I'm still a momma's girl. :) Here are a few pictures to show off everyone holding Avery.

(I have pictures of my dad holding Avery later on he had to leave to go pick up my brother's girlfriend from the airport. My brother is also MIA because he was flying in from Paris)

As soon as I was out of recovery everyone came and told me bye and we finally got to eat something and go to sleep.

Even though this was not how I pictured everything going it all worked perfect. We had a beautiful healthy baby and a healthy mom. What else is there...I think if we had not had a c-section our little one would still be inside mommy. He just didn't want to come out. :)

The Last Year...

So I'm back and this time I have some good incentive to write on here more often...

I want to first start off by thanking Laura over at Our Crazy Adventure for making my blog look amazing!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

The last year has been crazy busy. Here is a recap to catch everyone up :)

On July 3, 2011 I married my best friend Calvin. We had the most amazing wedding with all of our families and friends present.

A few months later on October 23 we got one of these

Yes we were trying to get one of those we just thought it would take a lot longer than it did. The next 9 months were packed full of getting ready for our little bundle of joy to arrive. We were very anxious to see what we were having. On February 18 we headed to the doctor's office with my parents and Calvin's mom to find out if we would be having a boy or girl. The doctor came in and without a doubt told us we were expecting a...

Soon to be Hubby...

(by far not the best pic of me but he looks really cute and we had a blast at Brazos Bend that day!!)

So in rereading my whole 3 blogs.(Yes I know I suck at this I'm really trying to get better. This makes 2 blogs this month!!) I realized that I really have not discuss how Calvin and I met and all the juicy details that are leading up to our wedding.

So here is the beginning of how we met...

This story actually starts a bit before we started talking and dating. I have worked with a girl named Brittany for 3 years now and have been going to all of her family functions since the beginning of our friendship. (a little background information) Well in February of 2009 Brittany's uncle Travis was turning 50 so they were throwing a huge suprise party for him. Of course I was invited but I was going to be Donna's date. (Donna is Calvin's Aunt and one of my good friends. She also worked with me at Brannen and we got to be very close) I had met Calvin before but he had a girlfriend the whole time I had been coming around this family. We were at the party and Brittany had to leave because she went into laber with Lucas. So I of course kept Cody's beer because I was drinking it. :) At this time I had no idea that Calvin and Kelsey (his ex) were having problems. My soon to be mother in law decided that Calvin needed to dance with me. So we danced the whole night. I of course thought that Calvin was my age I had no idea he was younger. I found this out when I tried to get him to take all the beer back to Cody and he informed me that he could not do that. (yes I am marrying a youngen!!)

Calvin later informed me that this night he started having a crush on me.

I never heard or saw him again until June. Emily, Lori and I had decided to have a girls night out and went to the armadillo.

(I have to say that we looked good that night and had lots of fun!!!)

I danced all night with him and was way drunk...:) After that night we started talking on myspace. It wasn't soon after that, that he started a shutdown. He was working nights and had to stay up all night one night to get ready for the next one. So we talked all night and then on that Friday he met me and a huge group of girl going to see The propsal. He sat through the whole movie like a champ. From then on we have be inseperable. It was by far the best summer I have ever had. At that point I was hooked and had told me mom I was done...this was it!!!

We went out for Calvin's Birthday.

To be continued....
